Junji Watanabe (JPN) was
born in 1976, and received Ph. D. in Information Science and
Technology from the University of Tokyo in 2005. He studies
cognitive science and communication devices with applied
perception. His studies have been presented in international journals (Nature Neuroscience, Current Biology etc.) and international conferences (SIGGRAPH 2006, 2007, 2008,
2009). He received honorary mentioned in Ars Electronica "NextIdea"
2004, and his art works "Save YourSelf!!!" and "Slot Machine Drawing" were exhibited in Ars Electronica Center from 2007 to 2008, and "Saccade-based Display" is currently presented. His works were exhibited at Japan Media Arts Festival in 2006 (Jury Recommended Works), 2007 (Jury Recommended Works), and 2008 (Excellence Prize).
He also works on the stage design of performing art
with media performance unit "cell/66b". The collaboration
started in 2001, and the works titled "test-patches" were
performed in Ars Electronica 2002, and Seoul International Dance
Festival 2003.
渡邊 淳司 (1976年生まれ) 人間の知覚メカニズムの研究を行うとともに,学生時代から,メディアアート作品の制作に携わり,人間の感覚と環境との関係性を理論と芸術的応用の両面から研究している.知覚体験の変容を通じて,自身の感覚基盤を再認識・再構築する試みを行っている.近年は,SIGGRAPH(2006,2007,2008,2009)を初めとする学会活動だけでなく,文化庁メディア芸術祭(2006,2007,2008),ArsElectronica(2002,2004,2007-2009)等の芸術祭においても数多くの展示を行う.また,メディアパフォーマンスグループcell/66bとともに舞台演出技術への応用研究を行う. |
